Project Description

The retention reservoir in Ligota Górna has an area of 60 hectares and at least 1.5 million cubic meters of water. This is the first retention reservoir built on the Stobrawa River. The reservoir functions as a flood protection and is supposed to supply the area with water during drought. The construction of the reservoir in Ligota Górna near Kluczbork began in 2009, while the opening took place on October 2, 2012.

The water reservoir is surrounded by a 3.5 km long walking path and a sandy beach. Since 2013, in the summer, there is a swimming pool with lifeguards, a swimming equipment rental, a possibility to windsurf, a free parking lot, a cafe and toilets at the disposal of visitors. The entrance to the Kluczbork Reservoir is free. During the construction, the hill was piled up with the ground selected from the reservoir basin. On the hill, the stairs were built and an observation deck was arranged. Different types of trees are planted at the top, while the pedestrian route going to the top of the hill constitute an educational path. Thanks to EU subsidies, an outdoor gym and a playground have been built at the beach. The reservoir is a good place for anglers, as it is stocked by the Polish Anglers Association. It should be emphasized that nationwide fishing are organized on the reservoir
